T2.1 Update and embed analysis framework and methodology in all regions as a central approach reference. It covers: regional RTD policy analysis, regional actor and infrastructure analysis, regional innovation system analysis, regional economic development analysis, European and international context analysis. T2.2 Regional RTD policy analysis in each region: desk research and actor interviews regarding policies (national/regional) regarding sustainability, waste management and recycling. Leads to internal working document Regional RTD policy analysis (per region). T2.3 Regional actor and infrastructure analysis in each region: desk research and actor interviews regarding research organisations, companies (large companies, SMEs), intermediary and facilitating actors (e.g. technology transfer & innovation, venture capital/finance, business development) with linkages with waste management and recycling. Leads to internal working document Regional actor and infrastructure analysis (per region). T2.4 European and international context analysis in each region (e.g. links to existing European Technology platforms, Joint technology initiatives or other European projects). Leads to working document Regional innovation system analysis (per region). Leads to internal working document European and international context analysis (per region). T2.5 In each region: regional innovation system analysis regarding knowledge-driven waste management innovations (strength, weaknesses) (based on desk research and interviews) in each region: regional cluster policies and initiatives analysis regarding sustainability, waste management and recycling. Leads to internal working document (per region). T2.6 Regional economic development analysis in each region (strengths, opportunities and needs, and economic development policies) with respect to waste management RTD, innovation and business creation opportunities.
